  • Six more Bhutanese dependants get their visas cancelled in Perth, Australia for working extra hours than what was permitted in their visa provisions. Their visas were cancelled last week. However, they are given seven working days to appeal to Migratory Review Tribunal.

  • The Office of the Attorney General has forwarded the illegal census registration case in Zhemgang to the District Court. The investigations, involving seven people, took four years to complete.

  • The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay officially launched the Gewog connectivity road black topping works in Trashigang on Friday. The Riju-Bartsham road is the first black-topping project in the east. It will benefit more than 400 households.

  • A 26-year-old man died on the spot after the car he was travelling in plunged 15 meters below the road near Bajo Higher Secondary School, at 1 AM this morning. The driver escaped unhurt and is under police custody. The Wangduephodrang Traffic Police said the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He is unlicensed and was found speeding.
