  • The ruling and opposition are pointing the finger at each other over the increasing unemployment rate. In the National Assembly session today, the ruling MPs said the increase of unemployment rate from 2.1 percent to 2.9 percent over the last one year, is the previous government’s doing.

  • The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay arrived in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, today. He is in Nepal to attend the 18th SAARC Summit, which will begin tomorrow.

  • The Foreign Minister, Rinzin Dorje, said SAARC must be made more relevant to the people in the region and to the world through deeper integration. He was speaking at the 36th Session of the SAARC Council of Ministers held in Kathmandu, today.

  • Three hundred and fifty victims of domestic violence visited the RENEW office in Thimphu, this year alone. Of that, 330 were women. This was revealed as Bhutan marked the International day for the elimination of violence against women today. The day was marked in Genekha Gewog in Thimphu with a theme ‘responding to end violence against women.’

  • The situation in border area of Samtse has become calmer, today. A riot had ensued following a death of Indian Domestic helper, 18, yesterday.
