  • His Holiness the Je Khenpo is presiding over a nine-day Dramar Drupchen at Namdruling Goenzin Dratshang in Lhuentse
  • The new Indian Foreign Secretary Dr. S. Jai Shankar will be in the country tomorrow on a two-day official visit. This is Dr. Jaishankar's first official visit abroad after assuming the post of Foreign Secretary in January, this year.
  • Bhutan National Strategic plan 2015-20 aims to eradicate malaria spreading from cross border interaction by 2018. It is the priority of the Health Ministry to make Bhutan a Malaria free country by 2020.
  • The Foreign Minister, Rinzin Dorje said the basis under which he was charged did not lead to any violation of laws, rules and regulations. The minister, who has decided not to take a lawyer, was submitting his opening statement to the Haa District Court on Lhakhang Karpo case, today.
  • The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources’ overseas employment is proving to be unsuccessful. The ministry has managed to send only 176 Bhutanese for employment abroad since the scheme began in December 2013. Some 30,000 job-seekers are to be sent to abroad within the 11th plan period, under the scheme.
